Delhi Subordinate Services-Selection Board (DSSSB) is an association that is consigned by the government to recruit highly experienced, knowledgeable, and talented candidates for different positions in government sector DSSSB made this selection by following different types of procedures for different posts. The selection process usually includes professional tests as well as written tests, and one-to-one interviews. So in order to get hired for a specific position, you need to clear the selection process.
DSSSB Conducts Test for Four Types of Programs
- General Post Program
- Primary Teacher (P.R.T)
- Trained Graduate Teacher (T.G.T)
- Post Graduate Teacher (P.G.T)
DSSSB PGT Exam
DSSSB conducts PGT exam for the recruitment of postgraduate teachers that teach up to 11th and 12th-grade students and this post is subject specific.
A set of different standards that is required by the company for the selection of candidates on a specific post is called eligibility criteria. DSSSB also has clear and strict eligibility criteria for each of the post and the candidates not fulfilling the criteria will be rejected in the application process.
For PGT exam, the candidate should holds a master’s degree or specialization in a subject, or PhD in any subject from a recognized university and should have ranked first division in post-graduation, graduation as well as higher secondary school. Along with the above mentioned degree, training in &Ed. or a minimum 3 years of experience in higher secondary school or college is also necessary. The age limit for PGT exam is 36 years old, candidates more than 36 years old are not eligible to apply.
In order to apply for the exam, you first need to visit the official website of DSSSB, and select the application form for PGT. Fill out all the details that are required. Try to be vigilant, add original details and qualifications and don’t skip anything. After filling application form, get challan form, submit the application fee. You then need to add the details of bank slip also on the form. After completing the application, submit it online. You also need to take a print out of the application.
Selection Procedure for PGT
DSSSB conducts two tier selection procedure for hiring post graduate teachers. Firstly, a written test will be taken and those who cleared the test, will then have to go through a personal interview. Clearing both tests is necessary for the selection. And it would be a plus if you have any special qualification (PhD, MPhil, M.Ed., &Ed).
The written test is comprised of questions from the following subjects
- General awareness
- General intelligence and reasoning ability
- Arithmetical and numerical ability
- Hindi language and comprehension
- Concerned subject and Teaching methodologyTotal of 300 multiple choice questions and objective questions will be given to marked from above mentioned fields within the time limit of 3 hours. 025 Marks will be deducted from total gained marks in case of wrong attempt.
DSSSB PGT Interview
After clearing test, you also need to clear the interview as final selection will be based on the performance of both interview and test. The interviewers usually ask the general questions and also the subject specific question.
The total marks of the exam are divided into following manner.
- Written exam 85%
- Personal interview 10%
- Special qualification S% (PhD/MPhil — 2%, MEd. — 2%, &Ed. — 1%)The procedure looks quite tiresome and number of candidates apply for a single seat but if you have enough preparation and you are confident, you can go through this easily and can be get hired as PGT.
